When is changing of the toothed belt required?
For the 1.7 engine: The toothed belt has to be change all 5 years or all 60.000km, for what comes first. Some Ford dealer say 10 years of changing and 150.000km, this is not correct! The Ford customer center in Cologne and Ford Motor Company Switzerland validate this opinion.
For the 1.4 and 1.6 engine: The toothed belt has to be change all 10 years or all 150.000km, for what comes first.
Whats the duration of the Puma rust warranty?
Every Puma has time of 6 years rust warranty. But the service check ups has to be without a break.
What spark plugs would be needed in the Puma engine?
The spark plug has to have an electrode distance of 1.3mm. Attention: The 1.7 engine needs to have platinum spark plugs.

Is there an intermittent controlled wiper?
All Pumas up from 1999 have a intermittent controlled wiper. Serially the intermittent is adjusted at 7 seconds. But you can choose the intermittent stepless between 1 and 25 seconds.
- Switch on the intermittent once.
- Then switch off the intermittent.
- Wait until the wanted intermittent is reached and then switch the intermittent wiper on again. now the intermittent is adjusted and can be changed at any time by following the steps ahead.
Water is running into the boot while opening.
Unfortunately it is a constuctinal fault. One way to avoid a wet trunk is to open the hatch slowly. Another facility is to fill up the end of the bootlid with silicone.
The Puma was built from august 1997 till 2002. The last Pumas have been commpletely mounted manually, while the rest have an contingent of hand work of about 40%.
Are there any other head-/backlights for the Puma?
There are no other head- or backlights for the puma, except covers and idividual items. But you can change illuminants. There are bulbs from "narva" or "philips". Another alternative is to install real hid. But remember the illumants are called HB3 for the head lights as well as the long distance light. The parking light is called W5W.
